The project will essentially contribute to the EU regional policy. The important role that regions can play when it comes to promoting an RTD-friendly environment has been emphasized for some time. It is at this level that entrepreneurial needs can best be understood because communication is often most easily established. It is at the regional level that external research facilities and technology needs of the enterprises can be matched. It is at this level where an environment conducive to RTD is needed and where an innovation culture can best be fostered.
